We have recently confirmed that some guests who made reservations at Hotel Vischio Kyoto, a JR-West Hotels property, through Booking.com have received fraudulent messages via email and messaging apps. These messages request credit card information under the guise of booking confirmations and include links to phishing websites.
If you receive such a message or any suspicious communication, please do not access any links included in the message.
Please note that our hotels will never contact guests via WhatsApp, messaging apps, or social media regarding reservation or payment information.
We are currently working with Booking.com to investigate this matter further.
In addition, as part of our security measures, we have already taken the necessary actions, including changing the passwords for our Booking.com management system.
